At Amok Sunset Bar, Yolo doesn’t only mean You Only Live Once, but also one of their signature cocktails with arak bamboo and vodka. And whether you’re on team Shu Mai Pork dumplings or Tipsy Ribs, get ready for the superb blends of spices and herbs. Even the comforting Nasi Goreng Amok will leave you wanting more.

Although you need to rent the towel (it’s only $1 or IDR 15,000), it won’t take the joy out of munching on the perfectly seasoned Octopus Skewers. So many places to eat in Nusa Penida, but Warung Forest remains one of the best in my book. It’s only here that you get a kilogram of fish, grilled to perfection, and served with the zesty sambal matah for only IDR 200K. The Chicken Rica-Rica never fails to impress me, as it has the right kick of heat and sweetness.

Warung Forest tucks away from the main road, and it’s your literal definition of a hidden gem. It’s a humble place, but nothing modest about the flavors. The mango juice is by far my favorite, because it’s naturally sweet, thick, and super refreshing. And get ready for a big portion of Chicken Curry, you may need help finishing it!
