Kuta, Bali is known for its breathtaking beaches, fancy restaurants that offer top-notch European and Asian cuisine, superb surfing spots, luxurious hotels, and everything else. But did you know that it also provides some of the finest breakfast options on the island?

Many people flock to Kuta, Bali, for breakfast because of the wide variety of choices available. Whether you’re in the mood for an authentic Balinese breakfast, a Western-style brunch, or a smoothie bowl, you’ll find it all here.

Best breakfast cafes in Kuta - breakfast

1. Kuta Crumbs & Coaster (Kuta, Bali)

This spot truly stands out as a breakfast cafe with a comfy and amiable vibe. Omelette with bacon or a flavoursome croissant with jam and honey? Well, you have a variety of delectable and fresh breakfasts waiting for you here. The talented baristas can make fantastic cappuccinos and black coffees just the way you like them. The cafe is well known for its tasty food and outstanding service. What else do you need for your perfect vacation?

If you’re looking for a filling oatmeal with yogurt or a tasty snack later on, Crumb & Coaster has your back covered. The menu has mouthwatering choices that go well with a nice afternoon tea, coffee or juice. Indulge in their heavenly selection of freshly baked pastries, including flaky croissants, decadent brownies, a butter-flavoured muffin, and cereal breakfast with fruit or syrup. Honestly, it’s very hard writing it right now, being so far away from the spot where anyone can get their private piece of breakfast heaven!

Give the flavourful, handcrafted sandwiches and fresh salads a try for a satisfying meal. The smoothie bowls here are a popular pick for many personal tastes!

2. Flapjacks (Kuta, Bali)

Flapjacks restaurant first appeared in Bali in 2009. Their kitchen cooks delicious homemade pancakes, crunchy and soft waffles with syrup, and, my favourite, low-fat ice cream, as part of their dedication to serving high-quality food made with fresh ingredients. I personally prefer to come here with my friends to enjoy a delightful pancake or a variety of delicious flavours of creamy gelato. One thing was always the same: our meals were prepared with little wait and were well worth getting out of bed for. You should definitely try the version of gelato with chopped nuts: this dessert is rightly appreciated by local foodies and the ones coming from abroad.

The establishment boasts a colourful and cheerful interior, along with a comfy and welcoming atmosphere that encourages young people, as well as families with children, to come and enjoy the dining experience in Flapjacks, Bali.

3. Benih Cafe (Kuta, Bali)

Apart from the many wonderful things Bali offers, there is something else that is often left neglected. Yes, I am talking about your flawless breakfast! Of course, you may settle for breakfast in your hotel, but you have to agree that breakfast there can be really bland if you don’t choose an option for tons of money per day. There is always another way: I suggest you head to the tiny and secluded coffee shop, known as Benih, located really close to the beach side.

This extraordinary place is one of the must-visit spots during your Balinese adventure, as it’s famous for its delicious breakfasts. Choose among incredible milk coffee options, sandwiches with fresh cheese, and smoothies, which are perfect for rejuvenating your day.

Their breakfast menu includes regular coffee and fruity beverages, egg snacks like Eggs Benedict, nutritious meals and fresh salads, donuts and pastries baked from banana flour, pancakes, a good old sandwich with fish or meat fillers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, and many more. But it’s the expertly brewed coffee with a seamless and satisfying taste that makes the bar a hit with visitors.

The proximity to the beach results in guests coming to enjoy the magnificent ocean view, but they stay in the space for super-friendly and helpful staff, as well as for fantastic food and drink.

4. The Alleyway Shack (Kuta, Bali)

At this marvellous Shack, your perfect breakfast meets no restrictions! Here, you can start your brand new day with any kind of meats (bacon, yum!), a fresh salad, or a sweet pastry. The place would make a lovely pick either for breakfast or lunch, primarily because it looks different from other cafes nearby in terms of prices, food selection and outdoor and indoor decor.

Known for its carefully selected coffee beans and stunning ambience, this is an ideal place to relax after a tough day full of adventures. Every cup of coffee here is made with love, ensuring you enjoy every sip you make and every breath you take.

As I have already said above, the spot serves a variety of delicious food, like avocado toast, a chicken sandwich, vegetarian wraps, and all times favourites like burgers. There is also a variety of sweet delicacies available here, including freshly baked pastries, berry pancakes, mouthwatering cakes, and yummy gelato for all those with a sweet tooth. Anyone who enters the Shack can enjoy the incredible vibe of a cosy cafe with exceptional customer service, carefully made cocktail cards, comfy seats and top-notch art (both in terms of food and indoor decor).

5. Dear Lucy (Kuta, Bali)

This cafe is a hidden gem, offering breakfast perfection like in no other place. Not only is it set apart from other eateries in terms of unique menus, but it also has an outlandish vibe that both residents and guests of Kuta enjoy.

If you are one of those travellers who are looking to mingle with the local community during their travels, that’s the place that you definitely should check out. I’m 100% sure you won’t regret starting your day here, either with a cup of hot coffee or one of their other drinks on offer!

If you are a coffee aficionado like me, you should surely try the coffee they make. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it paired exquisitely with any dessert from their menu.

Apart from a top-notch dining experience, the cafe offers a comfy and serene setting where you can enjoy breakfast in soft, inviting beanbags or chairs surrounded by traditional Indonesian furnishings. Enjoy your coffee break here to unwind and cool off from Kuta’s tropical heat.
