What has globalisation done to Bali? It has introduced Indonesians to finger-licking good pizza! Among other things, of course. But let’s face it, no matter how good the Nasi Goerang is, kids today want a good slice of pizza for lunch from the pizzeria around the corner. Can we blame them? It is a beautiful amalgamation of bread, tomatoes, and cheese! It’s basically a flat salad!

1. Manhattan Slice

When Italians migrated to Italy, they took with them some secrets of pizza. The Manhattan slice is known to be the closest you can get to a Napolitana pizza in the USA. Now, it is available here in Seminyak, another corner of the world! Chefs have unlocked the secrets to creating delicious thin-crust pizzas that have an addictive taste and are simply amazing.

When it comes to pizza, Manhattan Slice is all about the bigger, the better. When enjoying New York-style pizzas from 12 inches to 18 inches, you’ll want to wear stretchy pants. Get an 18-inch slice, or share the entire pizza with your loved ones. Your choices include classic pepperoni and cheese, signature pepperoni, or the ability to customise your pizza. You can even have a cinnamon pizza for dessert.

2. Wild Habit

Neo-Neapolitan pizza originated in Naples, Italy. Made with simple, fresh ingredients, this type of pizza consists of basic dough combined with fresh produce and local meats, cooked at high temperatures in a wood-fired pizza oven. The pizza has a very thin crust on the base, with the dough puffing up on the sides and creating a very airy crust. Looks so delicious, right? Fortunately, you don’t need to journey across Europe to sample authentic Italian pizza. Wild Habit will take you on a culinary journey where a slice of their pizza will transport you back to the heart of Naples, Italy. Experience the flavours of both the Wild Habit Pizza and the Parmesan Pizza.

Wild Habit makes wood-fired pizzas using an authentic Neapolitan recipe – pizza with a thin, crispy crust that puffs up at the edges. Stop by for a classic pepperoni pizza or try the restaurant’s innovative dish, The Wild Habit Pizza – a unique creation featuring prosciutto, Parmigiano, fresh arugula, oregano, cherry tomatoes, and cream cheese burrata. Wrap things up with their frozen cocktails.

Expert opinion

Pizza is one of my go-to foods! Eating pizza is always a yes for me: whenever, wherever. Exploring the culinary options of Seminyak will not be complete by visiting or ordering from one or two pizza restaurants. Many people in Bali, whether locals, expats, or tourists, come to Seminyak just to eat pizza. That is how good the pizza is! So here are my best selections of the best pizza restaurants in the area.

Manhattan Slice, Wild Habit, and Rustic Bali

The reason why I chose these as my selections is because of the authenticity of the pizza. My favorite pizza is pepperoni and a four-cheese pizza. By far, they have the best pizza crust quality. The portions are really good yet fulfilling! The friendly and prompt service is also one of the things that I love.

So, if you happen to be in Seminyak, visiting or ordering pizza in Seminyak is worth trying! Have a slice, and enjoy Bali!
