The hype delivers. Modern Mexican, fantasic staff, tasty food. Nothing was too much trouble for Uje (who is first enquired with to book and was our host for the evening) and all staff members were accommodating, friendly and understanding as we had small children with us. The venue is comfortable, air-conditioned but it does take a while to cool, and needs a service, but what\'s more mexican than that? We live in México, so I have a unique opinion on Mexican food. The corn tortilla chips were great, a little thin, but close to the real thing. Guacamole was on point, zesty, salty, rich. The one place I\'ve been so far in bali where the food didnt need more seasoning, in a good way. The modern, western spin is actually a positive unlike when many restaurants try fusion and it fails, here i would say the excelled. Constructive criticism first, the civiche (snapper) had been in acid too long and made it chewy. In saying that, there was no fishy (old) taste. The flavours were there and they were bold, citrus, spice, coriander. Still yummy. The carne asado taco was well put together, and mexican, with a generous amount of guacamole, charr and citrus. The al pastor was a nice interpretation of the classic. If you don\'t like spice, maybe ask what you can eat, here 😂🌶 The birra with marrow was another tasty interpretation, not really classical but a flavour bomb. Spicy, fatty, delicious beef. The tuna tostada was delicious, in my opinion the addition of avocado and less ingredients bar tuna would make it more true to México, but again, not a disappointment at all. I\'ve never had baby corn (or...maybe teenage corn?) Before but it was delicious, charr, creamy Chipotle style sauce and again.....chili. My son obliterated almost 3 servings of birra tacos (regular, non marrow version) so they\'re doing something right. The staff were accommodating, friendly and prompt. No bottles of water here, vaso de agua de la casa (house water, no charge). The beers were cold (after one warm one to start) and the cocktails were so good everyone had more than a few. If the owner is reading this, and can souce it, get sone Pacifico or modelo, my preference would be Pacifico (beer). It\'d add the the overall experience. I suggested how to make the margaritas, con hielo (with ice/on the rocks) instead of fancy Martini glasses and I felt at home. Do yourself a favour and dine here. Make sure to book, as it isn\'t a large restaurant and it gets busy. Booked days in advance. Muchas gracias, amigos.

We decided to try some Mexican in Sanur and Jalapeno did not disappoint. Sometimes Mexican food can all taste a bit the same — burritos, enchiladas, tacos, blah blah boring — but not here. Lots of interesting and different things on the menu. Highlights included the cheese-stuffed fried jalapeños and the soft-shelled crab tacos. Prices are reasonable for both food and drinks, and the atmosphere is great. Definitely worth a visit.
