Crate Cafe Canggu

I love the place and I come here often and I would never hurt them with a bad rating, but on some occasions they fail miserably. 80k sirlion should cost more so you don’t get a horrible cut, barely chewable and gristle. Baby potatoes taste like dirt, maybe not washed properly and the broccoli had larva in it, definitely not washed well. Please just take note 🫶🏻

Went for the coffee, stayed for the vibes. To clarify: during my past month in Canggu, I\'ve been to Crate multiple times, but usually for a coffee or a matcha rather than for food. Crate is one of my favourite cafés in the Canggu area (to the point where I go there so often that it\'s become an ongoing joke with my boyfriend). The coffee is quite good and never over-extracted, their iced matcha is delicious (though it might be a bit too sweet if you prefer your matcha unsweetened but you can let them know), and they have a good selection of breakfast and lunch options without ever spending more than 80k IDR per meal. Like most cafés in the Canggu area, they also have a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options. My favourite part, however, is the atmosphere. I really like the minimalist, industrial interior, and it has become my default choice whenever I need to get some work done on my laptop. Mornings can be quite busy, so I would advise going either in the early morning before 8 am (it opens at 6 am) or in the late afternoon or evening. Late afternoons are my favourite: the place is calm and quiet, with gentle, warm lighting. The perfect setting for a deep-focus work or study session. Last but not least, the staff are super friendly and helpful. There\'s always a staff member helping with parking outside, but as I usually walk there, he\'s always happy to stop the cars and bikes on the road to help me cross. To note: - If you\'re going there to work on your laptop, make sure you go during the less busy times (early mornings from 6 am, or late afternoons and evenings from 6 pm) as the tables with plugs are limited. - If you\'re going at peak breakfast/brunch times, you might need to wait a while to get served, though I never waited more than 5 minutes for drinks.

Was curious to check out the Perenan venue and it\'s a beautiful place for sure, but bad attitude from staff ruins it for me. Too cool for school rebellious teenager vibe.
