We stopped by SKOOL Kitchen in Canggu to get the full experience, and it’s safe to say it delivered on all fronts. The open-plan setup is a total winner—with the open kitchen and outdoor seating offering unbeatable oceanfront views. This place is all about pure, bold flavors, where every dish meets the flame for that signature, smoky touch.

Founded by Tai Buddha and Adam MacAsey (the minds behind The Lawn and Bossman), SKOOL Kitchen makes our list of the best restaurants in Canggu for a reason. Our favorite? A perfectly grilled steak enjoyed with the waves crashing at Batu Bolong Beach. It’s the kind of oceanfront restaurant in Canggu that gets everything right: great food, relaxed vibes, and a sunset view that seals the deal.

Reservation

We suggest making an advanced booking via their official website as the place is pretty popular once it opens and during dinner time. We don’t suggest walk-ins to avoid the disappointment of not getting a table.

Parking

Sharing the same ground with The Lawn ensures that you can easily find a parking spot, whether you drive a car or ride a motorbike.

Service

We applauded the staff’s attentiveness from the time we made the reservation until we sat at our table. The food arrived reasonably quickly and the server ensured that everything was to our liking.

Why do we choose Skool Kitchen?

Primitive and modern are two opposite qualities but, at SKOOL Kitchen, the cooking style and contemporary layout complement each other beautifully. The grilled seafood and meat menus are the stars here, and prompt service plus a delightful seating area make the dining experience ten times better.

SKOOL Kitchen is a rare place in Canggu because they not only sell the view but also the excellent food. Perfect for a meet-up and even a date, look no further than SKOOL Kitchen if you want your dinner to be fulfilling, both literally and figuratively.

Would say the best restaurant in Bali. After trying most top-rated ones, every time I come back here it’s flawless. Sat at the kitchen counter this time - after a sunset cocktail - and had a superb meal, with friendly service and insights on the food from Chef Andrew. Congrats team Skool!

So first of all I want to say the place is gorgeous, views are amazing & atmosphere is great! The service was good too.. food on the other hand was very disappointing, we have ordered the chicken, octopus, gnocchi, bread, some salad and oysters.. for the price and the level of the restaurant I was expecting much more. The drinks were nice so would return for that but food was unfortunately mid..

Not worth it… We ordered lots from the menu but the food was very disappointing… usually after paying for an expensive meal like if we went to Masonry restaurant, I’d be so fulfilled thinking wow that was the best food I ever ate! But the food was really a let down which was surprising as had very high hopes for this restaurant. Just tasteless and meh. The staff & atmosphere/views were amazing I will give them that. Won’t go back but great spot for drinks I can imagine! X

This is my favorite restaurant to visit in Bali. I have been several times over the past few years and even under the three different head chefs that I remember during this time, it has never failed. The food is always phenomenal, the drinks excellent, the ambiance perfect, and the staff exquisite. Some of my favorites are the bone marrow broiche (currently not in season but coming back 🤞🏻), the short rib, the potato gratin, and the gnocchi. The watermelon mojito and the berry margaritas are also exceptional. The staff have been so outstanding and inviting. While on a recent visit I told the head chef that I was disappointed a certain dish was taken off the menu. I informed him that I had a second visit scheduled later in the week and he went out of his way to make a substitute dish. I was so humbled and appreciative that he even remembered. Finally, the bar staff have been sensational . My friend and I spent the majority of the night talking to them. Such beautiful, pleasant people. On my final night I came in late and Ogi & Co were extremely receptive and patient. I can’t wait to return 😃 Ps. Shout out to the dj who is also awesome. From Paula & Michelle (Irish) ☘️
