These establishments are hand-picked for you to try. They’re known to use fresh and high-quality ingredients.

1. Pizzeria, Sanur

Indonesian food, much like a lot of ancient Asian cuisine, isn’t heavily dairy-based. But when pizza is in question, the Pizzeria is a fantastic beachside Italian restaurant to dine in. Located along the picturesque coastal walking path, this unique restaurant commands attention from everyone who passes by.

With its outdoor bar and dining area, the beachfront restaurant provides a breathtaking ocean view. This spot is a fantastic choice for both lunch and dinner, welcoming not only resort guests but also visitors from all walks of life.

Experience the exquisite flavours of Pizzeria’s thin-crust, wood-fired pizzas crafted with authentic sourdough, and savour the delightful sweetness of an Italian dessert.

2. Bella Italia Sanur

After visiting the Blanjong Inscription, you can unwind while dining at this restaurant. You can enjoy excellent Italian food at Bella Italia Sanur, and many certainly recommend giving the cheese pizza, seafood spaghetti, and Caesar salads a shot if they’re on the menu. Don’t be afraid to give them a try. The chef here makes really tasty tiramisu, cheese, and ice cream. Try out the tasty limoncello or house wine, too. According to numerous customers, the waiters serve excellent espresso.

You’ll notice that there is always a crowd because this restaurant is close to hotels and upscale resorts. But fret not; it’s not difficult to get a table. Simply call in advance, and they’ll have one reserved for you. Walk-in customers can enjoy cocktails while they wait, so it’s still fun.

3. The Village Cucina Italiana

Italian nonnas make the best gnocchi, hands down. But we can’t all travel to an Italian village to get an authentic experience! So, instead, why not take a detour and seat yourself at the Village Cucina Italia? It’s not the sweet nonna, but it’s the next best thing!

But since we’re discussing pizzas, this restaurant wouldn’t be on the list if they didn’t make amazing pizza pies, would they? You can smell the Mediterranean scents wafting your way as soon as you enter. You better make reservations to get a taste of these amazing flavours.

4. Riviera

Transport your senses to Italy at the Riviera. This Mediterranean-European restaurant does authentic wood oven pizzas! The pasta is fresh and handmade by the artists in the kitchen. With such affordable prices, this place has truly become a local favourite. You can dine your meals here or get a takeout for a more casual night in. But bear in mind, this is no Italian fast food joint. Their specials are designed to melt your soul.

The head chef here, Chef Emilio, never fails to deliver a memorable dining experience. His mastery of Italian food speaks for itself. Almost as good as nonna’s food!

5. Trattoria

Italian food has more than just pizzas. Trattoria is known for its authentic pasta and risotto. It has put Italian food on the Bali map, thanks to their dishes. The owners and staff are committed to providing outstanding service to their customers. That means you might just find a waiter who speaks not only English but also French! So, the French speakers of the world, you’ll feel at home!

There are three things this restaurant takes very seriously. They don’t use MSG in any of their food. They don’t use trans fat, so there’s your healthy choice. Finally, they don’t sell mineral water in plastic bottles! Indonesia has taken a strict policy against single-use plastic, and Trattoria is on board!

Expert Opinion

I have been living in Bali for ten years, and Sanur is well known as the most chilled-out area on the island. It has everything but unmistakable island laid-back vibes, too. Sanur is a popular area for expats and a perfect area for a family getaway. One of the popular additions to Sanur is the pizza restaurants. So, here are my best selections of pizza restaurants in Sanur.

Pizzeria, Riviera, and Trattoria

The reason why these make up my best selection is because of the authentic taste, the pizza size, and the toppings variant! Also, the ambiance and vibes. It is obvious that the owner and the chef have brought a touch of their country to this small South-Asian town. Making Bali a part of this globalised world.

The world has truly gotten smaller. Over the decade, Bali has seen an influx of tourists, most of whom come here for a vacation or are on a soul-searching journey. But some stay back and become part of the local community. No matter your reason for visiting Bali, you will leave a changed person. If it’s not the beaches or the yoga gurus, it’ll be the pizzas that will help you find yourself. Namaste.
